Former Minister Saleh Mamman Granted ₦10bn Bail in Abuja Money Laundering Case

Following the events of yesterday, July 11th, at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where Saleh Mamman, the former Minister of Power, collapsed before his scheduled court appearance, significant developments unfolded today.

Justice James Omotosho granted Mamman bail in the amount of ₦10 billion with two sureties in like sum.

In delivering his ruling on Mamman’s bail application this morning, Justice Omotosho stipulated that the sureties must possess properties in Abuja valued at a minimum of ₦750 million.

Additionally, they are required to submit certified land documents to the court along with three years’ tax clearance certificates. Furthermore, Mamman and his sureties must provide their bank statements and international passports to the court.

Alternatively, the court accepted a bank guarantee of the specified amount in lieu of sureties.

The case has been adjourned to September 25, 2024, for the commencement of the trial.
