The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended two suspected kidnappers, Chukwuma Bartholomew and Igwe Monday, in connection with a series of kidnappings and murders in the Ijebu-Igbo area.
The suspects were arrested on June 28, 2024, following a comprehensive investigation by the command’s anti-kidnapping squad.
According to the police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the duo were responsible for the abduction and murder of two victims: 71-year-old farmer Adekunle Ifelaja and Ogunyemi Femi. Ifelaja was kidnapped on December 31, 2023, while Femi was abducted on November 23, 2023.

Despite receiving ransom payments from the victims’ families, the suspects tragically killed both men and concealed their bodies in a shallow grave within a local forest.
Following their arrest and confession, the kidnappers led the police to the crime scene where the bodies were recovered.
The Ogun State Police Command has commended the anti-kidnapping squad for their diligent work in apprehending the suspects and rescuing the victims’ remains.
