Approximately 70 clerics from across the Northwest region gathered in Kaduna for a one-day prayer session focused on promoting peace and development.
The clerics, representing states such as Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Jigawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Katsina, convened to pray for Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and the Nigerian Armed Forces. Their prayers were centered on seeking divine intervention to tackle the escalating challenges of banditry and kidnapping in the region.
Malam Lawal Ibrahim BK, the organizer of the session, expressed deep concern about the deteriorating security situation in the Northwest. He emphasized their hope that their collective prayers would lead to tangible improvements in restoring peace and security.
“We organized this prayer session because the Northwest is facing severe security challenges, particularly with banditry and kidnapping. We also prayed for the Chief of Defence Staff and the Nigerian Armed Forces, believing in their capacity to overcome these challenges,” Malam Lawal Ibrahim stated.
The session witnessed active participation from 70 clerics, all of whom are directly affected by the ongoing security issues in their respective communities.
Notable clerics in attendance included Shaikh Muhammad Nur from Katsina, Malam Jamilu Ismail from Kano, Malam Rabiu Al-Mustapha from Sokoto, and Malam Kamaludeen Ismail from Zamfara.
