A couple, Delon Jaganath and Micaela, were tragically shot dead in a parking lot at a housing complex in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024, on Clayfield Drive in Clayfield.
Prem Balram of Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) reported that their control room received numerous calls from residents about the shooting. Upon arrival, Reaction Officers found the Phoenix SAPS already on the scene.
The bodies were discovered with multiple gunshot wounds: Micaela was found in the passenger seat of a white VW Polo, while Delon was located about 20 meters away in a pathway.
“On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered the Phoenix SAPS in attendance,” Prem Balram said.
“The body of a female was found in the passenger seat of a white VW Polo and a man believed to be her husband was located in a pathway approximately 20 metres away
“They were shot multiple times and were pronounced deceased at the scene.”
Witnesses reported seeing a silver VW Jetta, whose registration is unknown, fleeing the area after the shootings.
Balram added: “The motive for the shooting was not established.”

KZN police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo confirmed that the Phoenix police are investigating the case as two counts of murder.
“This follows an incident in which a 26-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man were found with multiple gunshot wounds on Clayfield Drive,” he said.
