The husband who previously accused his wife of tearing his passport at the at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos has now changed his stance and criticized bloggers for their coverage of the story.
Over the weekend, a video went viral showing an altercation at Lagos International Airport, where a woman was seen admitting to tearing her husband’s passport. In a subsequent video, the wife explained that she had torn the passport intentionally at the airport to prevent him from traveling back.
In response, the husband released a video claiming his wife was the problem and shared an extended version of the airport incident, stating he had his friend film the scene anticipating her dramatic reaction.
However, following his wife’s detainment by Immigration officers and her transfer to Abuja for questioning, the husband has retracted his previous claims. He now asserts that the video was merely a “skit” and has criticized bloggers for misrepresenting the situation.
He stated: “I’m here with my kids to send an appeal to the public of Nigeria, to the whole world also, that what my wife tore, is not passport. Please be a blogger, when you’re blogging, blog and blog well. Don’t go and blog to spoil things, please
He concluded by asserting: “She never tore my passport, she never spoilt my passport. My passport is intact. We’re doing a skit.”
