A suspected serial ritual killer, Muhammad Adekunle, has confessed to conspiring with others to murder and sell human parts. According to the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Ayodele Sonubi, Adekunle and his accomplices were paraded on Friday, August 16, 2024.
The gruesome details of their crimes were revealed during a press briefing. The suspects are linked to the murder of at least two victims, including 14-year-old Malik Kareem who was killed and beheaded on August 7, 2024. His head and legs were allegedly sold to a female trader at the popular Oje Market in Ibadan for N70,000.
In a separate incident, Adekunle admitted to collaborating with Lukman, Olobe, and Ifa (all at large) to lure Adekola Sodiq to Moniya in January 2024. They subsequently murdered Sodiq, severing his head and legs, which were then sold to Obaleye Sanmi and Ismail Olalekan. Sodiq’s remains were discovered last week in Olorisaoko Village, Akinyele Local Government Area.
Following up on the case, the police executed a search warrant on August 11, 2024, at the suspects’ homes. Fresh human flesh was found, which Adekunle confessed belonged to Malik Kareem.

Additional suspects, including Muniru Salawudeen, Rashidat Akanji, Ismail Olalekan, and Obaleye Sanmi, were arrested and confessed to buying human parts from Adekunle for ritual purposes.
A horrifying discovery was made on August 10, 2024, when a foul odor led police to a dry well on Adekunle’s property. The well contained the mutilated remains of three unidentified bodies, which have been taken to the State Hospital Morgue for further examination.
The Commissioner of Police described the suspects as serial killers and vowed to bring them to justice.
