Cristiano Ronaldo made a splash on YouTube on Wednesday, August 21, with the launch of his new channel, ‘UR · Cristiano,’ and achieved a record for the fastest time to reach 10 million followers on the platform.
Ronaldo surpassed the 10 million follower mark in just 10 hours, breaking the previous record held by MrBeast, who took 132 days to achieve the same milestone. Remarkably, Ronaldo surpassed Lionel Messi’s 18-year-old YouTube channel in just 2 hours.
“The wait is over. My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey,” Ronaldo announced on his social media handles.
The 39-year-old five-time Ballon D’Or winner, who currently plays for Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, has a substantial following with 112.6 million on X, 170 million on Facebook, and 636 million on Instagram.
His channel already features 19 short videos, including a clip of Ronaldo unveiling the ‘Gold Button’ in front of his children. The ‘Gold Button’ is awarded by YouTube to channels that reach one million subscribers, while channels that achieve 10 million subscribers receive the prestigious ‘Diamond Button.’ With 12.4 million subscribers already, Ronaldo is expected to soon add the ‘Diamond Button’ to his collection.

The content on Ronaldo’s channel includes videos of him enjoying time with his family and motivational content based on his personal experiences.
The channel will feature discussions about his “greatest passion” (football), as well as his interests in family, wellness, nutrition, preparation, recovery, education, and business.
According to the announcement, Ronaldo will also engage in conversations with various guests. The channel will support his business ventures, including Ursu Water, the Erakulis fitness app, and the CR7 brand, which encompasses fragrances, underwear, eyewear, and footwear.
