Gunmen who abducted nine residents, including two children, from the Lokogoma community in Gadabuke District, Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, have demanded a ransom of N50 million.
The bandits attacked the community last Friday, resulting in the death of a primary school teacher, Yusuf Mohammed. They also abducted two of his daughters and seven other villagers.
Ibrahim Aliyu, a relative of the deceased teacher, confirmed this ugly situation to the Daily Trust on Wednesday. Aliyu revealed that the leader of the gunmen contacted them around 12pm on Tuesday using one of the victim’s phones to make the ransom demand.
“Even when the man negotiating with the kidnappers informed them that the person who was supposed to arrange the ransom was the one they killed, the leader of the kidnappers said he didn’t care.”
