The spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, has identified and released photos of two policemen who were brutally murdered by members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), commonly known as Shi’ites.
The slain officers, ASP Innocent Agabi and Inspector Alexander Odey, were killed during an attack on a police checkpoint in the Wuse area of Abuja last week.
In addition to the fatalities, four other officers, including a female officer, sustained injuries in the clash. During the incident, Shi’ite members also set ablaze three patrol vehicles.
On Sunday, September 1, SP Adeh shared the photos of the deceased officers and expressed her condolences in a post.
She wrote: “Last Sunday, these police officers set out to fulfill their duties, but sadly, they lost their lives in the hands of the Shi’ites. As breadwinners for their families, one can only imagine the deep sorrow their loved ones are experiencing now. May their souls find eternal rest. Late ASP INNOCENT AGBABI and Late INSPR ALEXANDER ODEY.”
