Two Suspects Arrested with AK-47 Rifle in Bauchi State

The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended two individuals in possession of a fabricated AK-47 rifle and ammunition.

The suspects were arrested while attempting to sell the weapon for N580,000 in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area.

According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the suspects were nabbed by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.

The suspects, identified as Abdulgafar Mohammed and Yusuf Isa, both from Barkin Ladi in Plateau State, were traveling to Boto market to sell the rifle.

The police are currently investigating the matter and will charge the suspects to court upon completion of the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammad, has reiterated the command’s commitment to combating the proliferation of illegal firearms in the state.
