An 18-year-old boy, Michael Ogbogu, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly blackmailing a 17-year-old girl using her nude pictures.
Ogbogu, a former schoolmate of the victim at Igbo Efon College, Ibeju Lekki, obtained the nude images during a video conversation. He subsequently used them to demand more explicit content, sexual favors, and money from the victim and her parents.
The victim’s family reported the incident to the police, leading to Ogbogu’s arrest on September 11, 2024. The suspect has confessed to the crime, and the case is currently under investigation.
The police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, condemned Ogbogu’s actions and assured that justice would be served.
The PPRO said: “The suspect used the images to demand more nude content, sex, and money from the victim and her parents.
“The suspect was arrested and he has made confessional statements. The case is under investigation and further development will be communicated.”
“The suspect’s actions are unacceptable, and we will ensure justice is served.”
