Pandemonium erupted in the Iwofun area of Odigbo Local Government Area, Ondo State, when a farmer named Monday fatally stabbed his friend, fondly called Aboki, during a heated argument over N2,000.
According to residents, the dispute stemmed from a larger debt of N7,000 that Monday owed Aboki.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday when Aboki confronted Monday about the outstanding debt. A verbal altercation ensued, quickly escalating into a physical fight that attracted the attention of nearby residents, who intervened to mediate the situation.
Despite paying N5,000 towards the debt, Aboki persisted in pressing Monday for the remaining N2,000. This renewed the argument, and in a fit of rage, Monday stabbed Aboki to death.
Following the tragic incident, the police in Odigbo apprehended Monday, the alleged perpetrator of the crime.
