Nigerian Army Arrests 10 Suspects, Including Boko Haram Terrorists and Kidnap Informants

In a series of intelligence-led operations, troops from the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army have arrested 10 suspects in Taraba State.

The suspects include 8 Boko Haram terrorists and 2 high-profile kidnap informants.

According to Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of 6 Brigade Army Public Relations, the operations were conducted on September 29th and 30th, 2024.

On September 29th, troops raided the residence of a terrorist leader, Tukura Abdul-Kareem, in Ardo-Kola Local Government Area.

Abdul-Kareem and 7 other suspects were arrested. The group was planning to establish a sleeper cell and carry out attacks using improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Items recovered from the suspects included mobile phones, identity cards, and suspected drugs.

On September 30th, troops arrested 2 individuals linked to a high-profile kidnap syndicate in Chachanji village, Takum LGA. These informants provided information to kidnappers about troop activities and potential targets.

Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of 6 Brigade, commended his troops for their successful operations. He emphasized that their swift action disrupted a dangerous terror plot and protected innocent lives.

General Uwa also thanked the citizens of Taraba State for their vigilance and cooperation.
