Two Cult Members Arrested in Lagos After Alleged Killing

Two suspected members of a notorious cult gang were apprehended by Lagos State police in the early hours of October 6, 2024.

The arrests were made in response to the killing of a fellow gang member by a rival group in the Agege area.

Alimi Abdurasak and Eniola Shamsideen, both 18 years old, were apprehended by operatives from Elere Police Station around 1:50 AM along Agbotikuyo Street in Agege. The suspects attempted to flee when they spotted an anti-crime patrol team but were cornered and detained by officers.

Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrests and stated that both suspects are residents of the Oniwaya area of Agege. During the arrest, officers discovered a black bag containing two axes and two bottles.

“At the time of the arrest, the suspects were found with a black bag. When the bag was searched, two axes and two bottles were recovered from them. Investigation is ongoing and the suspects would soon be charged to court,” the PPRO added.
