A father sent his daughter disturbing photos of two Saudi women found mysteriously dead in their Sydney home after she refused to return to Saudi Arabia to marry her cousin.
In a threatening text, he asked if the images frightened her, stating, “I swear to God I will kill you, I will bury you, and no one will know.”
The bodies of 24-year-old Asra Abdullah Alsehli and 23-year-old Amaal Abdullah Alsehli were discovered in their Canterbury apartment in June 2022, following a two-month search by police. The sisters had fled Saudi Arabia in 2015 with just $5,000 and were seeking asylum at the time of their deaths.
Despite the outcry over their deaths, the father tried to force his daughter to leave Australia and return home.
She, along with her mother and three younger sisters, had resisted his demands. He sent her a text in Arabic with the photos, stating: “You thought you wouldn’t get it! Is the image scary? “It will come true, I swear to God I will k!ll you, I will bury you and no one will know, I will come soon and see you. “This is your destiny and it will be at my own hands.”
