Nigerian Army Apprehends Alleged Terrorist Collaborators in Taraba

Troops from the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have arrested three individuals suspected of aiding terrorist activities in Taraba State.

According to a statement released by the brigade’s spokesperson, Olubodunde Oni, on Friday, October 18, 2024, the operation was conducted on October 15 in Landey Jessy village, Lau Local Government.

Acting on intelligence reports about bandits operating in the Kona Range of Mountains, troops carried out operations in the surrounding area, leading to the arrest of the three suspected collaborators.

During the investigation, one of the suspects admitted to hiding weapons at their residence after terrorist activities. Another suspect was identified by a victim they attempted to kidnap in Ardo-Kola Local Government.

The suspects are currently in custody undergoing further investigation.

The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives, property, and the nation’s territorial integrity.

The army urged the public to continue providing timely information to security agencies in the fight against terrorism and other security threats.
