Boko Haram terrorists attacked the Jakana Divisional Police Headquarters in Borno State on Sunday, injuring a police officer. However, the attack was successfully repelled by brave police operatives.
In a statement released by the Nigeria Police Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, it was revealed that the terrorists attacked the police station at around 1 AM. The police officers, displaying bravery and professionalism, engaged the attackers, inflicting injuries on several of them.
Adejobi said: “The group of unknown armed individuals attacked the Jakana Divisional Police Headquarters, Borno State, at about 1am.
“Fortunately, the group was met with strong resistance from gallant operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, who successfully repelled the attack and left many of the attackers with varying degrees of bullet wounds, while one police officer was injured and is currently responding to treatment.”
In other security operations, police and other security agencies conducted raids on various black spots and bandit camps in Sokoto State on November 25. The raids resulted in the recovery of AK-47 rifles and ammunition.
Additionally, Delta State Police Command operatives engaged suspected kidnappers in a gun duel on November 28. The encounter led to the recovery of multiple firearms and ammunition, as the suspects fled into a nearby bush with injuries.
The statement read: “A subsequent search of the suspected kidnappers’ operational vehicle led to the recovery of 3 Ak-47 rifles, 2 pump action rifles, 1 Ak-47 magazine, 8 rounds of AR Live ammunition, and 21 rounds of live cartridges.
“Occupants of the camp took to their heels upon noticing the presence of the operatives while efforts are on top gear to apprehend them all.”
