Anambra Police Arrest Suspected Kidnapper, Recover Victim’s Vehicle

Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 34-year-old man, Nwokpoku Emmanuel, from Ebonyi State, in connection with a case of armed robbery and kidnapping. Emmanuel, who resides in Oduke-Obosi, was apprehended by police operatives.

During the operation, the police recovered the victim’s red Mercedes Benz GLE 450. They are currently working to apprehend other gang members, including the alleged leader, Ebuka.

According to reports, the victim was kidnapped in a neighboring state and subsequently released after a ransom of N15 million was paid. The kidnappers made off with the victim’s vehicle, which was later tracked and recovered at the MCC Junction in Onitsha.

Confirming the incident, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has ordered immediate action to arrest the gang leader. The Commissioner also assured the public that the Command will continue to implement strategies to enhance security in the state.
