Lawyer Deji Adeyanju has accused the Imo State Police of unlawfully detaining his client, singer Speed Darlington.
The singer was initially arrested in October following a petition filed by fellow musician Burna Boy. Subsequently, he was rearrested in November for alleged bail jumping.
Adeyanju claims that despite these arrests, Speed Darlington has neither been released nor formally charged.
The police reportedly justify the continued detention by citing the singer’s previous failure to appear in court.
