A man captured in a viral video attacking a judge in Las Vegas, United States, has been sentenced to a minimum of 26 years in prison.
Deobra Redden, 31, pleaded guilty but mentally ill to charges including attempted murder.

The attack occurred on 3 January, during proceedings in Clark County District Court. Judge Mary Kay Holthus was about to sentence Redden in a separate felony attempted battery case when he vaulted over her bench and desk, landing on her. The assault left Judge Holthus bruised and bloodied.
A court marshal who intervened suffered severe injuries, including a serious head wound, a dislocated shoulder, and a torn rotator cuff.
Redden’s trial concluded in September after Judge Holthus testified that she feared for her life during the attack.
On Tuesday, District Court Judge Susan Johnson described the incident as an attack on the entire judiciary while delivering the sentence, as reported by CNN.

During the hearing, Redden reportedly claimed he did not recall much of the incident and stated, “I am not an evil person.”
“I saw nothing but red, and I don’t remember doing anything except for jumping on top of her and doing this to her robe. I was like, ‘Why are you doing this to me?’ That’s what I wanted to ask her if I think I knew myself, but I’m not really sure,” Redden said.
