NSCDC Officer Jailed for Defrauding Job Seekers of N12 Million

A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court has sentenced Solomon Ogodo, a Superintendent of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), to a total of seven years and four months imprisonment for his involvement in forgery, employment racketeering, and fraud.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) had arraigned Ogodo in December 2022 on a 5-count charge for defrauding job seekers of over N12 million.

The convict had promised to secure employment for victims’ relatives in the Nigeria Correctional Services (NCoS) but failed to deliver.

The court ordered Ogodo to restitute the money he had fraudulently obtained from his victims.
