Dr Chinedu, who hailed from Nteje in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, was reportedly shot dead near the High Tension area in Awka by hoodlums who trailed him to the location at about 8 pm on Monday, 16 December 2024.

“Those thieves entered his car, ran him over, and drove away with both his Toyota Corolla and their own vehicle,” the eyewitness narrated.
According to Leadership, while the assailants were attempting to put the lecturer’s remains into the boot of their vehicle, a team of policemen from the Central Police Station (CPS), Awka, arrived at the scene.
The police requested custody of the lecturer’s remains, but his family and associates appealed to the police to allow them to take care of the body of the slain lecturer.
