Two young men in their twenties were found dead under mysterious circumstances in a one-room flat in Agbarho, within the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Their bodies have been taken to a morgue by the police.
Some individuals who spoke to Vanguard in the area have linked the deaths to alleged fumes from a generator placed on the flat’s veranda.
According to neighbours, one of the deceased had recently rented the flat and moved in on January 1st with three friends. Concern grew among the neighbours when they began to notice unpleasant smells coming from the flat.
Speaking anonymously, some neighbours explained that they knocked on the door but received no answer. The police were then called, and upon forcing open the door, they discovered two lifeless bodies inside. Two others, found in a weak condition, were rushed to hospital.
