A violent confrontation between rival cult groups, the Greendlanders and the Bobos, in the Igbogene community of Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, tragically resulted in the deaths of three individuals.
Among the deceased was the son of a former leader of a local vigilante group known as Money Sweet.
Reports indicate that approximately ten heavily armed cultists launched a surprise attack on the Igbogene community at around 8 pm, causing panic among residents who sought refuge in their homes and locked their doors.
An anonymous source revealed to journalists that the first victim was the son of the former vigilante leader, shot dead near his residence. A second individual, not affiliated with any cult, was also fatally wounded after failing to provide information on the whereabouts of his elder brother.
Confirming the incident, the state police command’s public relations officer, Musa Mohammed, identified the deceased as Donaldson Mison (28), Addy Mulan (27), and Greenboy Dudella (29).
