The son of a landlord, known only as Junior, is currently on the run after attempting to rape the 15-year-old daughter of his tenant in the Elele community of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State.
The incident took place on Saturday morning. According to an anonymous source, Junior had previously enquired about the whereabouts of his tenant’s family.
“He approached the siblings, aged eight and 15 respectively, last Friday to ask if their father would be home that night,” the source revealed.
The children, unaware of his intentions, informed him that their father would be away.
Later that night, at around 1:00 am, Junior allegedly broke into the tenant’s house.
“He began making advances towards the 15-year-old girl who was sleeping with her siblings. He attempted to remove her underwear,” the source explained.
The girl, startled by his actions, awoke and grabbed his hand. Junior then allegedly punched her and fled the scene through a window.
The terrified girl used her torchlight to identify the fleeing man as the landlord’s son and immediately raised the alarm.
The victim’s father, Felix, confirmed the incident and stated that he had reported the matter to the Elele Police Division.
“He broke into my house at midnight while I was away and tried to rape my 15-year-old daughter. He ran away after the incident, and we haven’t seen him since,” Felix said.
