The Chairman of the Kano Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, was arrested on Friday, 24th January, over allegations of misappropriating more than N4 billion.
According to DailyTrust, Rimingado was held at the Zone One Police headquarters in Kano for several hours, where he was questioned before being granted conditional bail around 11 pm. He has been instructed to report to the Force headquarters in Abuja on Monday, 27th January, for further questioning.
The arrest is reportedly connected to the ongoing trial of Bala Muhammed Inuwa, the former Managing Director of Kano Agricultural Supply Company Limited (KASCO), who faces accusations of embezzling public funds. The trial, which started in November 2023, has already resulted in the seizure of assets and funds linked to the alleged corruption.
The case is being heard at the Kano High Court, where Justice Hafsat Yahaya is presiding, and the court has ordered the seizure of properties believed to be connected to the fraud, including funds held in bank accounts, pending a final ruling.
