Suspected bandits launched a series of attacks across Zamfara State, resulting in at least four deaths, including two young children, and the abduction of several others.
According to intelligence sources who spoke with security analyst Zagazola Makama, the attacks took place between Sunday night and Monday morning, 24th February 2025, hitting communities in the Gusau and Bukuyyum local government areas.
In Shemori Village, Mada District, six women were abducted by bandits at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The violence continued early Monday morning when gunmen invaded Kairu Community in Zugu District. There, they killed two residents and kidnapped an unknown number of people.
Also around the same time, bandits attacked Hayin Bajumi in Mada Town, Gusau LGA. They set fire to the home of Aliyu Usman, tragically killing his two children, five-year-old Ishaq and two-year-old Jafar, aged two.
Before escaping, the attackers also abducted the wife of Usman’s neighbour and her one-year-old child.
